Leonor Prieto is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She left New Orleans for Texas to pursue undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating from UT with honors, she moved to Houston to work for Accenture, a multinational management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. While at Accenture, she provided information technology consulting and support services to energy companies in the Houston area.

Leonor attended Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans and received her J.D. in 2007. She passed the bar in 2008 and has since worked for law firms in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. She has practiced in personal injury, commercial litigation, successions, and hurricane claims. She has also performed title examination work and conducted real estate closings for a title company. In 2013, she represented clients in bankruptcy proceedings through the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation Pro Bono Project.
